THE VOLEES 3D

Volunteers were greeted as soon as they hit the sidewalk with a red carpet a crowd of swarming paparazzi. Pictures were snapping of every volunteer that walked onto the red carpet and our video crew tried to get some “red carpet interviews.”

As volunteers entered the venue they were greeted by our staff who was lining the red carpet going into the venue. The staff men were all dressed in matching tuxes. Every single volunteer that walked on the red carpet was welcome with cheers, claps and many high fives. They walked into the venue on a red carpet and as they viewed the beautiful venue for the first time they were greeted by a white piano and a professional pianist playing in the center of the room underneath a creative lit ceiling treatment. As they walked in lights were flashing as a professional photographer took their red carpet picture.

As volunteers walked into the event they were encouraged to go over to the drink bar where they could get any non alcoholic mix drink they wanted. The bar was staffed with people to make the drinks. They made anything from cherry cokes to raspberry limeades and to top it off there were cute straws! Once people got their drink they began to brows the the food tables where there was everything from pesto sandwiches to different kind of cheese and crackers. There were pub tables beautifully decorated where our volunteers could stand around and enjoy the evening.

The photo booth was complete with 3D glasses we used as props.

When the show began everyone moved over to the side of the room where there were chairs set up toward the stage. There were 3D glasses on each chair. Once everyone was seated the show began with a video introducing the guest comedian. The video was hysterical. The comedian did a routine that the whole crowd enjoyed. After he did his opening routine, he introduced “Miss Volees”. Miss Volees was a woman who would be on stage to help hand out the awards.

There were six major awards that encompassed all of the volunteer areas that exist in our church. There were fun awards like the “Kids Choice Award” for the KidStreet Volunteers and the “Critics Choice Award” for the deacons and adult teachers. The leader of each ministry came up along with the rest of their team to accept the award. Sprinkled throughout the awards were videos about different ministries that we wanted to highlight. After all of the awards were given away Pastor came up and talked about the 3 – D’s it takes to be a “3D Volunteer”. Pastor also gave away 3 awards to people he had selected. He called those awards the “Pastor’s Choice Awards”.
